We've had men from our church attend the Rally the last three years. Each time we attend I can't help but appreciate the range of speakers that are invited to share the Word. And the worship music is top quality, while never drawing attention to the performers.
But the greatest asset to me as a pastor is the ability to spend the day with the men of our church and bond together. It's an investment of time with them that is worthwhile. We have a few laughs, some tears, pray & sing together, and get a little closer to each other and our Lord.
An added bonus this past year was the privilege of having our first baptism service in our sanctuary. For four years this wasn't possible because our facility didn't have a baptismal tank. But the portable baptismal used at the Rally each year to baptize dozens of men, was brought to our church for our service. We have several Chinese graduate students from Kent State in our congregation who witnessed their first baptism service. They were totally amazed and we had the opportunity to explain the meaning of this to them.
Thank God for the Rally! It's such an asset to the pastors, churches, and men of Northeast Ohio.
